Now we're going to be massaging the neck with the stones. First, let's apply the oil. Effleurage
strokes of the upper traps, the back of the neck and into the occipital ridge. We're going
to be doing these same strokes just holding our stones. Cup the stones in your hands and come up the
shoulders and underneath, alongside the spine and up to the occipital ridge. So, along the
upper traps, back of the neck, alongside the spine, and into the occipital ridge. Sometimes
I like to traction at this point so I cup my hands under the head. I rest the stones
at the occipital ridge and I traction back. This is very relaxing. It engages the vagus
nerve and releases a lot of muscle tension at the lower part of the neck. Do this on
both sides of the neck and then I can turn to one side and use one stone to do my effleurage
strokes at the side of the neck. The upper traps, the levator scap. You can also do some
stripping, separating the muscle fibers and some circular motions with the stone itself.
And have fun and practice with different techniques with the stones. And that's doing massage
for the neck.
