Everyday in the UK, six young people aged 13 to 24 are told they have cancer.
That's around 2,500 a year. As only 0.6% of all cancers occur in young
people, they are often misdiagnosed. 61% of young people with cancer felt their
diagnoses could have been made earlier. There are five common signs of cancer in young
people. Persistent and unexplained pain.
A lump, bump or swelling. Extreme weight loss.
Extreme tiredness. And changes in a mole.
Cancer is the leading non-accidental cause of death in young people.
Regularly check yourself and if there's any signs get to the doctor before the cancer
gets you.
