I've been working for Athleta for three years and I design a whole assortment of categories,
woven bottoms, woven tops. I help with outerwear, swim, swim apparel, seamless.
I am a research manager at the Institute for the Future, the nonprofit that helps organizations
and communities think more strategically about the future.
I'm an artist working in L.A. I've been exhibiting and currently I teach at Cerritos College.
So I've benefited a lot from having an MFA degree.
I've been here about two years now at Disney Mobile. I am the lead artist on mobile games.
I design the visual look of the game, so I'll be on the project very early and I'll be deciding
what the game world and characters look like.
Right now I'm a freelance photographer. Some of my clients include Dockers, Prana, In Case,
and Fitness magazine.
I work at HOK -- one of the top 10 architectural firms in the world. My love of design that
I got at CCA is infectious here as well. My education and the experiences I had at CCA
played into my work on a daily basis.
Really my degree taught me that the way to accomplish something gigantic was to just
take it one little chunk a time and then at the end of it you can end up with
something incredible.
In every critique it was very important that concept was there. That's the most important
thing that I learned at CCA was how to create a concept for an image.
There's an energy there. You walk in the front door and it was almost magical the first time.
I got filled with so much creativity beyond anything I've ever experienced. I'm pretty
fortunate that Athleta is supportive of a sustainability movement, so I get to teach
what I've learned through workshops I've attended at CCA.
So when I graduated CCA I had a lot going on. I had multiple exhibitions that year,
but also I was awarded a Joan Mitchell Foundation Grant. I love my career. Photography is 100 percent
what I want to be doing with my life at this point. If I hadn't gone to CCA,
I don't think I'd be where I am today.
I was provided an education that went straight into a workable experience.
My job's a lot easier because I feel like I am doing something good for the world. We all want to be doing
more than just a job. It's really impactful when you get to see the results of your work
changing the lives of people.
