Hi Guys Rhodri from RG Golf Academy here another tip for you talking about
getting stuck over the golf ball alot of golfers do this and its not a good thing to do
a good example is to look at keegan bradley the old let get ready
i'm going in .... no im not im going back again
no thats the other end of the spectrum but what you notice is when he goes to hit a golf
ball
hes pretty quick...... now saying that keegan bradley is quick over the ball is a bit weird
because he takes an absolute age
and hes back and forth
walks in spins the club makes a backswing then misses the ball then hes back again
so this is a pretty good thing for him to do and this is how he likes to hit a golf
ball
but what we see a lot with golfers every day here is that they are pretty stiff and when
they make adjustments they do it like this
and when they look at the look at the target they do it like this.
They spend 90 percent of the time looking at the ball and then 10 percent looking at
the target .... that needs to switch
to react to the target better and to hit better golf shots it needs to be 90 percent target
10 percent ball
almost like the ball doesnt really matter
so if we see the standard golfer they know they have to stand over here and then they
walk in and their heads looking at the golf ball
and then they set up
and they have so many things going in there head like lets get the hold right and the
shoulder higher and this and that etc
and then the final thing they do is think .... oh where am i hitting it and then they
move over a bit and then
they putt there head down.......
and are very still.......
and then they finaly hit the golf shot
i actually hit that ok ( lol)
but there is no way i would play golf like that so this is what i would do..
you are right you stand behind the ball, lets move to the side as i am hitting the ball
to you guys
thinking ok where is my target ..... eyes are up picturing the shot
jack nicklaus said go to the movies which is a good thing to do.
tiger woods said play to the picture which is also good image
so we are coming in.... scooting round... walking in eyes are up..
and if you notice now i actually havent looked at the golf ball, my eyes are focusing on
where i want to hit the golf ball
now when i look down i expect to see that ball roughly in the right place
now i do need to make an adjustment i need to get closer
but notice what i did the adjustment is not looking at the ball it is made looking at
the target
so if i walked and get this wron.. lets get this way off
let go for that 150 yard yard marker
so walking in.
so now i know that that ball is way too far forward without looing at the ball and when
i look down i will look back up and make the adjustment
so i look down... im back up....move into postion...still need to go more
so now i am in a good spot.. staying nice and loose over the ball
down and
go like that
dont spend too much time over the ball everything gets too tight
so hope that helps please subscribe to our channel down in the description
and i look forward to seeing you next time
