Ok, the first thing we're going to do with our old chair is give it what we call the
shake test. You want to place your knee on the seat and keep your weight on the other
foot. Do not sit in the chair to find out if its broken, you'll get a spindle some place
where you don't want it to be. First rock the chair back and forth this way as you can
see this chair is loose all through here and down to bottom. We're going to take this whole
back off and re-glue it. Second step is to place the chair back on the bench and do the
same thing to the front legs. Now these joints don't appear to be moving but I can see them
moving from here and we'll do the same thing on the back of the chair. Give it a squeeze.
As you can see, that joint is moving. This joint is moving and it?s moving in here on
the seat and back as well. So now we're going to take the chair apart and clean the parts
and get ready to glue it back together.
