This whole event was about welcoming new students to OSU who are in the College of Public Health
and Human Sciences.
I came out just so I could meet more people in the college and get to know everybody.
Came out here, got to meet a lot of new faces. I was able to get some awesome ice cream,
who could say no to that.
I came out to meet people and just to see what it was all about.
I met a lot of people, made hopefully some connections for the future.
We really just wanted to welcome them, talk to them, answer any questions they might have
and let them know about the college and about academic advising and our office and the other
resources on campus that can help them be successful.
I think it went really well, it was well put together, I enjoyed it. Very helpful and informative.
There was awesome information inside, would love to get involved through there.
I really liked the event. I learned a lot about what I’m potentially interested in.
It’s really good to meet other people like from other states and countries and everything
that are interested in the same thing as we are.
Meeting the professors and getting the student packet was very beneficial, of course.
The advice I would give to incoming students right away is to take advantage of the opportunities
on campus to meet other people, not only fellow students, but professors. Go to class, take
care of their health, but also to just become engaged in their own education.
I’m most excited about the football games, all of the moral, meeting new people, going
to classes and just getting that first year college experience under my belt.
I’m really excited for all of the research opportunities because I know it’s going
to look really good on applications for med school and things like that and they all seem
really fun with everything we’ve learned so far.
Here at Oregon State I want to achieve being successful in life and getting the building
blocks to achieve success in my later years.
I really want to just experience a big university in general, like the pep rally’s, Homecoming,
football games, and especially like the courses like big lectures and then small classes at
the same time.
All of the opportunities that you guys have here, it’s going to be really great. And
like finally studying something that I actually am interested in.
