How To Stop Bullying In Sports http://www.sportsmentaltoughness.com
Bullying can happen to anyone and anywhere. A lot of kid’s experiencing this are having
inferiority complex.
According to Alfred Adler, inferiority complex is when "the feeling of inferiority is highly
intensified to the degree that the child believes that he will never be able to compensate for
his weakness".
How to stop bullying in sports? There are ways we can keep our children motivated despite
the negative people around them. See this tips shared to us by Raven.
This is Part 3 of the series interview with Raven Magwood, a teenage author, motivational
7 Practices of Exceptional Student Athletes"
In this video Raven will discuss how an athlete can stay positive to overcome anxiety in sports
performance.
Some people get cut down by teammates and get cut down by a lot of people, but it amazes
me they stay around people that are being negative towards them.
If you have the opportunity to leave those people, you have to. I tell my teenagers all
the time that sometimes in life you have to learn to love people at a distance.
If they are not being positive, you have to remove yourself from that situation.
When people are being negative towards you, don't let it bother you.
It is easier said than done. I understand, because I have had things like this bother
me too.
Sometimes I would have to take a step back and say, "You know what? I am not going to
let this bother me. I am going to keep moving forward.
I am going to keep thinking positive. Because when I am where I want to be in life, I am
going to be smiling. I am going to be happy.
I am going to achieve my goal and they are probably going to be in the same spot talking
about someone else."
You have to have that positive mentality. Know what you are working towards. Know your
goal.
Say, "I am not going to let that bother me because I know who I am and what I want to
be. I am going to keep moving forward in a positive direction towards that."
I tell elementary and middle school students when we have a session on bullying, that just
because you knock someone down does not make you smarter.
When you call someone fat, it does not make you any skinnier. When you call someone ugly,
it does not make you any prettier.
I see a lot of kids sit back and say, "You know that is true." Just because you say something
bad about someone and you try to make yourself feel better, it does not change anything about
you.
I tell that to kids all the time. You can carry that mentality even into adulthood.
Be positive towards other people.
That positivity does come back to you. You may not think so, but it does. When you put
out positive energy, that positive energy comes back to you.
You'll see more favor on your life. You'll see more success come to you, because what
you give, you will receive.
