Now that we have our wood pieces all painted, now we're going to assemble them. You'll need
your three pieces of ribbon about 30 inches long, you'll need your nails, a little bit
of craft glue. And we are going to start by marking the center on the ends of one side.
So what I'll do is measure the center on two of the blocks. So put a mark the center line.
Right there on two of the blocks. I choose the lighter colored blocks to mark so that
I can see them better. And just sandwich them together like this and then place your ruler
along the two lines and mark the center. You only need to mark the centers on one end of
the boards. So we're going to alternate with blue, yellow, blue, yellow. So we're going
to start with a blue and on the side that is not marked, we're going to nail in two
pieces of ribbon like this. Close to the edge there and leaving the center empty. And I
want to first put a dot of craft glue there. Not too much. You don't want it too thick.
And then place the ribbon right on the edge. The glue will also help that beginning piece
of ribbon not to fray. So you'll have the clue and then place the nail right on top.
Now it's important to have a nail that has a head because the head is going to hold the
ribbon in place. If you use a finish nail that doesn't really have a head, the ribbon
may pull right out. There. There's one. And then the other one. You want to make sure,
we are using such a thin little board, to get right in the center and make sure that
your nail is going straight in. Just like that. Now we are going to flip it over and
do the other side.
