Sacrifice. Honored. Recognized. Remembered. All words to describe the men and women in
uniform that came before us. Over the past year many construction and renovation projects
have made the memorial brighter than ever.
We chose to combine these projects rather than extending these projects over many years,
which is what we could have done, to make one big push and get it done as quickly as
possible. Originally, the plan was to replace the drainage
system. It quickly turned into something more. Years ago, when we put a project together
simply for draining, and then as we sort of thought this through we said it would be a
great time...the roads have to come up, let's redo the roads. If we're going to redo the
roads, let's do the borders. It accidentally happened correctly.
The cemeteries original design remained untouched during the renovations in order to keep true
to its roots I think it's important for the public to know
that we did these large projects and the cemetery didn't close one single day. Not one.
Over two million euro went into making sure anyone visiting can continue honoring the
heroes that came before them. Senior Airman Evan Mills.
