In this clip we're going to look at the neti pot. And the neti pot is the ancient yoga
technique used for clearing the nasal passages. Jala neti; Jala means water, and neti means
not there, or not thus. And so we'll use a technique of actually pouring water in one
nostril and it'll flow easily out the other nostril, creating a high pressure flow of
liquid, the water. And then it'll lift very gently the mucous that lines the nasal tract,
that can harbor allergens, and even viruses. So it's a great way, keeping your nose clean,
to avoid getting sick, and to keep the allergies at bay. So you'll need a neti pot, which can
be purchased at any drug store these days, even Walgreen's or Target. I have a pretty
large neti. The ones you buy at the store a quite smaller. Size doesn't matter, you
might have to refill and start again. You want to use filtered water. It's important
you not use tap water, it has to be clean filtered water. And you want it to be body
temperature, so you might have to warm it up. And you'll also use sea salt. You can
also use rock salt if you would like, himalayan rock salt, they're both very gently and they're
both natural minerals. You don't want to use table salt, because that's not really a natural
mineral mix.
