Have you ever wondered why weight loss is so hard?
Let me start off by saying that Yes... for some of us, losing weight can be a difficult
and daunting task with many pitfalls along the way, but let me assure you that you CAN
lose weight.
Let's Take A Look At Portion Size – Food is our passion and we don’t want anyone
telling us how much to eat, but if you keeping more than your stomach can or should hold
than getting larger is your only option. Let's face it... food is a passion, but we hate
it when other people tell us how much we should and should not eat. However, the simple problem
we all must face when considering losing weight is this: the more we eat, the more weight
we will gain.
So let’s talk about eating smaller portions. What does that mean?
Well, everyone is different.
Every one of us has a different size stomach, which means that portion size is all relatived...
meaning that portion size is different for all of us. Adequate portion size for a 200
lb man is much more than that of a 125 lb woman. So, the hard truth about why weight
loss is so hard is that we need to stop eating MORE than what our body NEEDS.
My mother told me something someone told her. It is called the One Item Each Method. Get
a regular size plate and put everything on that plate. Add a small portion of salad or
a vegetable. Add a small helping of potatoes, rice, pasta or one slice of bread. Not both.
If you don’t eat starch then add just one or two vegetables. Most people pile on the
food, or parents will pile food on a child’s plate and force them to eat the food. Both
are forcing doom if they are not corrected. So, when thinking about why weight loss is
so hard just keep in mind, You can snack as often as you like, just choose healthier snacks
as often as possible.
Eat well; you are on your way. http://www.whycaninotloseweight.org
