>> Ashley: Hey Guys! In this video I’m going to show you three different valentines you
can make for you and your friends. So lets get started!
First things first, we’re going to need to print the valentines’ you can get all
of these on my blog paperpastels.com completely free.
You will also find information on what paper I used and other tips and tricks for making
the Valentine’s day cards.
Before we begin I’m going to cut out all of my cards. You can print as many pages as
you need for you and your classmates or whoever you are making these for. I’m using scissors
but if you have a paper cutter that’s even easier.
So these are all of my cut cards, and we can move on to the first project now.
The first idea I have for you guys, are these crayon valentines! They are really simple
and so much fun to make so I’m just gonna jump right into these.
I’m going to be using these silicon molds and these crayons I purchased from the dollar
store. So I’m just going to open them up and take them out.
So first, you are going to peel off the wrapping paper from the crayon. This shouldn’t be
too hard. Just start from the bottom and work your way up!
Once you’ve peeled off the wrapping paper, just snap the crayon into smaller pieces.
And then just repeat this step with all of your crayons!
Now I’m going to lay out my silicon molds. You can pick up bakeable silicon molds at
the baking section of most craft stores.
Then start filling in the molds. I’m going to be making specific colors but you can play
around and create any color combination you’d like. So I’m just taking crayons in similar
shades and putting them in my cup.
Once you have created the colors you’d like go ahead and put these in the oven for 30-45
minutes at 250 degrees. You want to bake them at a low heat and make sure you check them
to see once the crayons have melted. Once the crayons are melted you can allow them
to cool or just stick them in the fridge to speed up the process.
My crayons have now melted and cooled down, and I’m just going to take them out of the
mold very carefully. And waalaa this is my finished crayon, so you can see the different
shades create a really cool effect.
Here I also added some glitter to make a glitter crayons. You can mix in glitter to the crayons
while they are melted or just before.
So now I have all of my crayons and Valentine’s.
And I’m also going to be using some washi tape!
So I’m just laying out all of my colors and cards in the order I want them to be.
And now I’m just to grab the crayon and tape. I’m just going to roll it like this
so its just a double sided tape. And then just place that on the crayon and then you
can place the crayon on the paper. Right in the middle. And then you can repeat this step
with all of the cards, and you have these really cool valentine’s for you and your
friends!
Next, I’m going to show you how to make these mustache lollipops.
So I’m going to start with some candy melts that I got at my local craft store.
All you need to do is get a mold. I got this one at my local Michaels but you can purchase
these online.
So I’m just going to pour the candy melts into a microwave safe bowl and we are just
going to put these in the microwave for about a minute. If you are using another brand though
make sure you follow the instructions on the package.
So mine are melted and I’m ready to put them into my molds.
So you may have some lumpy areas as you can see but if you just pat the mold down on your
work surface it should smoothen out, and you can just add the candy sticks to make the
actual lollipops.
And, once you’ve done that you can just stick these in the freezer. These will get
hard in about 10 minutes. They don’t take very long at all. They dry almost instantly.
So mine are dry, and you can see they are so easy to take out. You don’t have to struggle
at all. Just pull them out, like so.
So now that I have taken them out of the freezer I’m just going to grab the cards that I
printed out at the beginning.
And, I’m going to punch a hole in the card and I’m just going to put the lollipop through
it.
So then you repeat this process and aren’t these so cute adorable? I love mustache Valentine’s!
So this is the last project that I have for you guys.
For those of you that love rainbow loom this is something that you guys are gonna love.
So I’m gonna show you how to make this really simple bracelet. Just twist the rubber band
like this, and then just layer on rubber bands. And then you can loop the previous rubber
band over that.
And then you can just continue adding rubbing bands and doing the same thing. Just grab
the bottom rubber band and then put it over the top one.
So this is the easiest rubber band bracelet ever.
You can do this on your fingers with pens pretty much with anywhere.
You don’t need to have the kit do this one.
So if you already know how to do this or maybe you want something more advanced you can check
out the playlist of rainbow loom videos or if not you can just stick to this one.
So whatever you decide you can go back to the card and I’m just going to punch some
holes on these.
If you don’t have a hole puncher like I’m using, you can use scissors. Just make sure
the hole is not too big.
So now I’m going to loop my bracelet through the holes like so now and then I’m putting
it through the other one.
And just pull it through and you guys can see that if you don’t make the holes that
big the bracelet will stay in place. If you do happen to make the hole a bit bigger than
you tried, just add some tape to the back and the bracelet should stay in place.
So these are what my bracelets look like if any of you make this or any of the ideas in
this video. Make sure you tag #paperpastels and I might just feature it in one of my next
video. Also, make sure to check out my friends we all made valentines themed videos.
