So I had a faculty member ask me how they could create "to do" lists for their students
- what might be a good way to do that. And there's a couple ways that you can do it.
You can just use the Announcements tool that comes built into your course, and you could
create Announcements that are essentially like a weekly to-do list. "Week 1 To Do List"
and then you could put in here a list of things that they need to do. The benefit here is that then you can also send
this list to them via email. So that's one option. Once you submit this... then you would
just create a new one for week 2, and same thing. I'm not sending them out via email,
but that certainly would be an option if you wanted to. So then these would just stack
on top of each other. The other option is to create a content area in your course menu,
called let's say "To Do Lists" or wahtever, make them available to your students. Hit
submit. And then you've got a link that's added to your menu. Then when you go into
that content area, each week's list would then be a Blank Page. So you'd have "week
1" and you'd have the same visual editor, content editor here. You could attach things
to it. Now in this case you don't get the option to email it. But then you just hit
Submit. Right? Then we could do another one. "Blank Page" Once week 2 rolls around. Whatever
you need to write in here. Submit. It's going to put it at the bottom, but you can decide
if you want that on top instead. So then when I turn off Edit Mode, you can kind of see
how that would work. Students are just going to see links, and then the list is displayed
right there. So that's content area plus blank pages versus the first option that I showed
you of just using the Announcements tool. So those are two options of doing this To
Do list sort of setup for your students. I had that question come in. So, thanks for
the question. Hope that helps!
