This version, this style of collar or neck opening is called a Roll Down Lapel. And it
has a clean finish, and as I said before, clean finish means that it has a facing. The
facing is the part of the garment that you don't ever see, unless you're the one creating
the garment. The facing is something that goes inside that holds itself and lets the
outside retain its shape. It allows for the outside to stay in better shape longer and
it is the, it allows for the prevention also of fraying when you have the facing sewn inside
of it, this part of it is not going to fray, because there's stitching, there's seaming.
The roll down part of it is just meaning that there's a softer edge to it than a classic
lapel. Roll down is just not, there's not as much harsh edging and it's all one piece
and just flops over on itself basically.
