Ninety passengers aboard an Egypt Air flight traveling from Cairo to Kuwait had a startling
ride Monday after a passenger’s snake escaped from his carry-on luggage.
“An Air Egypt official says a 48-year-old passenger brought a cobra on board in his
carry-on bag. This is a picture of what that snake looks like.”

“The 48-year-old passenger had hidden the Egyptian cobra in a carry-on bag. He was trying
to control the snake after it bit his hand and started slithering under the seats.”

The Jordan Times reports the passenger was identified as Abdul Latif — who admitted
to owning a reptile shop in Kuwait and hiding the snake in his bag.
CNN reports Latif refused medical treatment, claiming the wound was minor. Wildlife experts
say the cobra’s venom is so deadly it can “kill a full-grown elephant in three hours
or a person in about 15 minutes.”
The plane reportedly made an emergency landing where the snake was captured and the aircraft
carrying 90 passengers was able to continue its trip shortly after. That sounds like a
good movie plot...wait.
