It's important to treat your bed net with permethrin.
Mosquitoes can bite through the untreated net, or get inside the net.
The mesh of some bed netting and tent screens is not fine enough
to keep out all biting insects, especially biting midges and sandflies.
Bed nets treated with permethrin provide better protection by keeping away and killing mosquitoes
and other landing, small flying insects.
To treat a bed net with permethrin, all applications should be made outdoors.
Select a location protected from the wind. Shake the can well before using.
Spread the netting on the ground and spray with a slow, sweeping motion,
while holding the can at a distance of 6-8 inches from the bed net.
Spray until the surface of the bed net is completely wet with permethrin, without runoff.
Treat the back surface in the same manner. Allow to dry completely before using. Reapply after 6 weeks.
