so new survey which is going to be in the uh... which is in the new england
journal of medicine
says that and overwhelming majority of doctors would approved the use of
medical marijuana seventy six percent of doctors saying
they would prescribe it would be ok with medical marijuana being prescribed in
uh... certain cases so
the way this was done was
doctors were given a hike in the uh... hypothetical case a specific case of a
sixty eight-year-old woman
with breast cancer which had spread to her lungs chest and spine
and they were asked whether she should be prescribed marijuana to help it these
send symptoms in seventy six percent of respondents said yes no this isn't just
in the u_s_ that's the interesting thing
this gives us a much broader view
of the perspective on medical marijuana from around the world the survey
included responses from around fifteen hundred doctors in seventy two countries
and uh... fifty six different states and provinces in north america
also a hundred and eighteen doctors
wrote specific comments about their decisions on the survey
marijuana is the most commonly used illegal drug in the u_s_ it's currently
legal with this with a doctor's prescription right a so-called medical
marijuana
in nineteen states and the district of columbia washington d_c_
and then recently we talked about this right after the twenty twelve election
washington in colorado have legalized
marijuana for recreational purposes through a popular vote net each u_s_
state and province with at least
ten respondents
had more than ten had over fifty percent support for medical marijuana
except for one st louis that is the state of utah utah
all we one percent
of the seventy-six respondents in newtown voted to support
medicinal marijuana one percent
do you think it's a religious thing is it more minrel connected on i'm not sure
i know that there's a mormon presence and air force are against any substances
of two including marijuana
but are there so many that it may have made a one percent yes responses
unbelievable
uh... i mean i know utah as a very strange place they have
poor education
and there there are a lot of their religious people when you time not just
mormons right uh... but i i can say for sure in pennsylvania ninety six percent
of the hundred and seven
votes cast were in support of medicine on marijuana from positions
we have to say that we are going in the right direction right i mean i know that
the pharma industrial
scene
really doesn't like this in there of course there they don't crazy they're
scrambling to figure out
well but i think and if there's going to be legal
we gotta figure out a we need we need to like thirty eight c hill
and we need to keep the the plant illegal remember when they were
scrambling to do that it's just such an obvious
cash grab or
conover
loss a cash loss prevention tactics because of all the money that could be
lost potentially if medical marijuana becomes it becomes what more widespread
yeah there are in total uh... damage control absolutely yeah
anything they can do to acted to get you away from a from for medical map
marijuana
unless of course they can use the patent system which of course is incredibly
uh... uh... you takes advantage of so many of the commons uncommon resources
and then allows for-profit corporations to today said we just
um... uh... profit after using the commons for r and d
from something which is a is a public health issue an incredible stuff that's
going into charged you know obviously astronomical amounts of money
yet or things that should be
uh... there because then pennies right here
absolute
