Today I'm going to show you how to make a silhouette puppet show. We're going to make
the screen which the lights will be shinning on. And we're also going to make small caricatures
which are going to create a shadow against the screen. And we're going to be able to
move them around by touching them to some type of stick or pencil whatever is easier.
And by moving them around we'll be able to actually make a puppet show that is really
easy and it's a lot of fun. Let me show the supplies you're going to need. We're first
going to need a ruler. And we're going to need some wooden sticks. The sticks we'll
need some that are like skewers that have a sharp end. Because we're going to stick
them into the Styrofoam. A Styrofoam board to create our screen. And we're going to need
other ones without a sharp point on them. And those are going to be ones that we attach
the black silhouette figure that's going to be our puppet so to speak. So, we're going
to need both types of sticks. We're also going to need a brush for the glue that's going
to be used for attaching the sticks to the screen so that we can stick it into the Styrofoam.
We're going to need a pencil so we can draw the character on the paper first before we
cut it. And that's why we're going to need the scissors. And we're going to use some
Scotch tape for the border of the screen. We're going to be attaching, using a sift
type of colored paper that's going to go around the clear tracing paper which you also see
here. And that's going to create a border for the screen. And we're going to need some
black card board construction paper. Doesn't have to be too thick. That's going to be used
to cut out our caricatures. We're going to also need a piece of Styrofoam board that's
going to be used to stick the screen, to hold the screen, once it's all glued together with
the clear paper and the border around it. And that will make it stand upright so that
we can flash a light against it. And then we can see the shadow of the characters from
behind. So these are the supplies we're going to need to create our silhouette puppet show.
