hi internet, imlonelyandsad, and what a week. What a week to be a human on this planet.
There are conflicts all over the world, and it seems like these conflicts are constantly
spreading in size and intensity. From a military coup in Egypt that
ousted President Morsi, to Edward Snowden seeking asylum in Europe and SA,
the news media is going crazy right now and there's no real end in sight - we are being
bombarded with stories from Brazil, to Turkey, even here at home. Now, if there's
one unifying message from all of these conflicts, it's that change is an unstoppable force.
That no matter how hard you may resist change, you can't help but be
swept up in it. Whether you're a president or just you. Change is inevitable, good or
bad, willing or no.
There is one news story from this week that epitomizes this message, but the news media
just kinda glossed over it like it wasn't a big deal. But it is a big deal,
and thats why I'm here to break it to you.
Folks, you can't escape change but you can't allow yourself to be destroyed by it either.
Case in point, Miley Cyrus. In the news this week Miley Cyrus stated that she believes
she was 90s rapper Lil' Kim in her past life. Which is impossible because
1. Lil Kim' is still alive. 2. I was Miley Cyrus in my past life.
Now why am I picking on poor Miley? Well a few years ago I may have secretly really liked
Party in the USA...and the Climb. And a few months ago there was a video of
her performing "Jolene" and it reminded me of how much natural talent she has.
So I feel like her new music is a huge downgrade for her, which is a shame. By now you've probably
heard her latest single, "We Can't Stop" - a song about getting high
on ***, partying all night, and using bad grammar. Now I don't care if people
do *** or even sing about it, but not Miley Cyrus. And I get that this part of her
marketing, and that she hired the same guy who was responsible for Brittney Spears' comeback,
but Miley has so much talent for singing pop country that it makes this
attempt at rebranding her as some kind of slutty party girl really transparent and disappointing.
Bring the old Miley back!
Like I said before, you can't be afraid of change but you shouldn't go crazy with change
either. Just look at this picture of me from middle school, look at how much
I've changed! Ah, I was so young then; this was before I had a college degree or
could grow a beard. Well, maybe not much has changed, but I did get fatter though.
We can't stop. Or can we? Can we stop ourselves from changing? Can we stop change from happening
around us? Ah, I get it now, I get the song. I understand
the message. We can't stop change, so live your life to the fullest. Wow.
Wow, I think I kinda like the song. Although it does slaughter the english language a little
bit.
Thank you for watching this week, remember to like and subscribe and all that stuff.
Until next time, imlonelyandsad.
