One issue that we are running into this time of year in Florida is that it is the rainy
season. Every day we have been getting rain, especially in the afternoons. This house has
no gutters on it. So what we are having to do is create a little berm of dirt around
the pool shell so that it doesn’t wash out the sides of the dirt. So we are going to
try and divert the water off each side. And then for any water that does get into the
hole, there is this shell behind me that water will percolate through. And then we can put
a submersible pump down in there to pump the water out. The shell stabilizes the floor
of the pool before the concrete is in place, so that the dirt doesn’t keep washing away
and undermining the rest of the hole. So the shell stabilizes all that so we can suck the
rain water out and keep everything in place until the concrete is shot.
