After you've sustained a workers' compensation injury you cannot rely upon a workers' compensation
insurance carrier or your employer to provide you with appropriate information or advisement
regarding settlement of your case, as well as other matters. In Pennsylvania after 90
days you can treat with any doctor that you want to but they often won't tell you that
in order that you continue treating with doctors selected either by the employer or by the
workers' compensation insurance company them self. The choice of your physician and what
you tell your physician are two of the most important things that you can do in your case.
You can choose the type of professional any geographic location for a professional, and
see them as often as you need to. But the insurance company will often not tell you
this. Instead they may lead you to believe that you must treat with their doctors continuing
after 90 days or that you can only see certain doctors or perhaps that you can't seek certain
types of medical treatment at all, which is not true. Our law firm has, again, attorneys
with over 20 years of experience where we can provide you advisement on the evaluation
of your case. So that you're not forced to rely upon a workers' comp insurance company
and possibly undervalue your case and settle it for less than what it is worth.
