Find these very realistic eyes on ebay for
about a buck a pair. Household tweezers, a
small amount of red yarn, sissors and clear
nail polish. Brush on a coat of nail polish
to the white section of the eyes only. Take
the red yarn and break it up to get the fine
strains. Apply the strains where the nail
polish was applied. Cut any excess away with
sissors. Now apply clear nail polish to another
clear section. Try not to get any in the iris.
Try twisting the yarn to get a thick vainy
look. Apply it on the stick area and cut off
the excess. The nail polish dose dry quickly
so you need to work quickly. Push the fine
hairs from the main vain with tweezers to
give it a blood shot rage look. Yarn is a
great material for this project because it
separates so easily. You can use the tweezers
to flatten the yarn as well if needed. Make
sure to recoat the section so that the yarn
is protected under the clear nail polish.
Try to be inconsistant with the yarn. Don't
be afarid to push it around with your fingers
and than fix it later with the tweezers. Make
sure to give the entire white area of the
eye another coat of the nail polish for extra
protection. And there you go blood shot eyes
ready for your prop.
