Hi, I’m Alex Read-Brain, and welcome to this edition of the travelling bed. I’m
back in my folk’s place and seeing that we had house guests we had to set up the spare
single bed in the den. So, here I am on a single bed which harks back to my childhood.
I actually had the same colour and frame design, a tubular frame design in blue when I was
a teenager. So it’s a single, 90cm wide, 190cm long on a simple frame – headpiece
frame, foot piece frame and the mattress itself just sits on slats. Good support but not overly
comfortable. The mattress itself is about 10cm thick – this is quite an old mattress
– it uses old inner spring technology and its comfortable to a point. I wouldn’t want
to sleep on it for a week but for a night or two - if you have to – its better than
the floor – lets put it that way. Its extremely different to the beds that we
sell. The fact is that this is an extremely solid base giving a very firm feel. The mattress
and frame are not working together like a pocket spring mattress with a box base on
our site. Easy to put together, easy to hide away in the garage or a spare room and pull
out when you have an abundance of house guests like we had last night here. I won’t be
sleeping on it for too many more nights, so that’s good. I’ll keep you updated on
the next edition of the travelling bed. In the meantime, please look around our site
and let us know if we may be of assistance to you. Thank you
