My name is Susan Hewitt and
I'm one of the three people who started the 'Love Dart' article.
What's a Love Dart? -- a Love Dart... -- Love Dark?
A Love Dart?
The dart that Cupid shoots a person with?
When we started 'Love Dart',
there were three of us that created the first draft of it.
Never before, really in the history of humanity, have so many people come together
on a volunteer basis to build an extraordinary
resource like this that everybody can use!
So, you just write freely, and your work is edited
and improved by the other people who are working on it.
A love dart is actually a dart like a little arrow
That some land snails and slugs
make inside their body, and they use it before mating.
Each snail or slug tries to stab the other one with a love dart.
Oh my god! So that's how it happens! (laughs)
Because Cupid is a story from ancient Greece,
there might be a real parallel between
Cupid and his love darts, and the snails and their love darts.
I like Wikipedia alot, I'm a big fan -- I love Wikipedia.
When I meet other Wikipedians, inside them there's this light that comes from
building this extraordinary structure of knowledge.
I'm not a believer in 'ignorance is bliss', I think the other way around 'knowledge is power'
so I think Wikipedia is a very powerful asset for the world.
It doesn't matter what your area of specialized knowledge
there's a use for it on Wikipedia.
