Okay
So, yeah, what you were saying that you didn't see too much grime.
So this is what's blue in there?
Yeah, it was mostly grime, so you didn't lose any indigo really.
Okay. So what tends to happen once it's been washed and dried?
Hopefully you'll some contrast, more contrast.
And now if you wear it for like another couple months it'll speed up the process of fading.
Alright.
Cool.
Exciting.
Okay. So do you want to educate the viewers on raw denim?
So, basically, raw denim is unwashed jeans and they fade over time naturally based on how you wear the jeans.
So, if you were to put certain things in pockets or if you bike a lot, the fades reflect what you do in them so it's a representation of the user.
It's almost like a second skin.
And what I like about it is that if you look at the fold on the back of the legs and around the pockets, it looks natural.
Because that's where you bend your knees and everything, but if you buy one that's pre-distressed the fades don't line up, right?
So you can tell that it's pre-washed.
So, do all jeans that are prewashed, do they all come from raw denim?
No.
They are manufactured and dyed to look like it's worn in.
So back in the day while it was famous it was like stone washed or acid washed, they'd just dye it to create that effect.
And the quality of denim is much higher for raw denim than it is for washed denim.
Okay. So this is good?
Yeah--just, yeah.
You don't see any more soap really.
And now do we just hang it?
Pretty much.
Ah, I need a hanger, we need to get one.
Okay.
Okay, cool. So this is 45 minutes.
So, are you guys ready?
Yep. Alright, time to rinse it.
That's it. There it is.
Oh, it's not that dirty, right?
Yeah, it looks decent.
So, this is like a mix of LA, Miami, Toronto and a bunch of other crap in there. So--
You obviously didn't wear them hard enough.
No, it wasn't that dirty so maybe I should of done more crazy things with it.
Well it's not that clean either. So--
That's true.
I'm kinda proud of myself.
What do we do? Rinse this or once it drains just, just fill it up again?
Yeah, just quickly rinse it until you don't see any more soapy--ness.
That's actually kind of grimey.
Yeah.
So I've been wearing this and carrying this around with me so I feel like a brand new person.
If you could feel like most people who lose weight, losing 10 lbs.
Yeah
Yeah, so I probably only lost like 2 pounds #$%^.
Raw denim is probably like the most disgusting fashion trend.
Yeah.
They should make some raw denim underwear.
Yeah, they have the shirts now. Raw denim shirts these guys make.
Yeah.
I don't really get that.
There's jean jackets too.
Oh, jean jacket, yeah. It's kind of like--I can't understand it.
It's probably, Masari
Oh--look at it drain.
Yo, Jing.
Yo, what's up. Hey.
I think your jeans are dry now, man.
Yeah, I know. It's been a day. So, let's go check it out. I'm excited!
Alright.
Yeah, man, I'm pumped! I'm JUZD!
JUZD!
You just have to take a walk.
There we go.
Umm--
Yeah. So we what we did--
We put this around the shower so it wouldn't drip down the--
Well, we put the shower curtain around it so it wouldn't drip on the ground.
And--yeah, this--
Look at this, man.
Alright.
Looks pretty dry.
Yeah, man. Let's see. Stiff.
Stiff.
It's like a brand new pair jeans.
So, what do you think, man?
I see a color peering out, it looks kinda electric blue with a hint of green and we didn't see that before.
Yeah, and you can kind of see the pocket area is too, right?
Yeah.
You can see where the pocket is.
It's kinda, like, faded.
Got the nice fold right here.
That's hard and stiff.
Yeah, you can really see the blue there.
Yeah, you see, but the textures gone.
I think once you start wearing it you'll get the texture back again.
Oh yeah, definitely.
And then, the crotch area here--
Wow.
Got to get it patched up, right?
The crotch is really worn. What were you doing?
Yeah--I don't know, man.
I guess--I *** a lot of things in my jeans, I don't know.
So--I gotta get that patched up.
What's interesting is that where I have the cuff right here.
It's probably--it's like, breaking.
Yeah, that typically happens because you fold them. There's a lot of stress there.
But a lot of people always have a lot of high expectations when you first wash it and usually this is the kind of result we expect.
I mean, now that you start wearing them again for a couple months they're gonna turn out even better.
Kinda jumpstarted the whole process a bit.
Yeah.
Then, what I like to do is--I've been wearing these boots.
These boots are pretty cool.
They're my favorite pair/kind of boots right now.
What I love about boots are these are very, very comfortable.
The brand here a lot of people ask me about: Magnum.
It's Magnum, man.
You'll find these at army surplus stores.
So what I do is I wear the boots and I have the jeans on top.
So you kind of see that fold.
And I think I've been doing that for the last--I think about 3, 4 months.
So--you really see the fold from that.
So, that's pretty cool.
Magnum boots, eh?
They're very comfortable, man. I love boots.
You can kick people and stuff too.
Yeah. I know another product that's Magnum.
Yeah?
Yeah.
Okay...I-I think it's a different company. So--
Okay, cool, man. Let me try this on and see how it fits.
Alright.
Great. Here it is, man.
Ah--
Yeah, man, it feels like ah--
brand new pair of jeans, right?
These either shrank, I think, about 10%.
Or, I gained like 20 pounds overnight.
So, it's really, really tight.
So--wanna turn on lights or can you see in the dark?
Yeah, even though they're sanforized there is still a little bit of shrinking that gets--that you need to get out of the way.
Yeah.
So, it's going to feel a little stiff right at the beginning, but it'll loosen up in a couple days again.
Yeah, so--it's a--we'll see how it goes. It feels like a new pair of jeans.
It feels really different.
The color's a lot lighter than before.
So it's almost like the feeling of getting a different pair of jeans.
So--
Yeah, especially, like, in the lap right here now.
You see a lot of texture.
You see some vertical fading going on.
It actually brought out the jeans a lot more.
Yeah--so, and then let's take a look at the back here.
Yeah, the combs are a bit messed up right now but they'll settle again.
Yeah.
So--you know, we'll see. We'll see how it goes.
I'll wear this for a few days and maybe it'll go back today, back to where it was before.
But they're a lot more stiff.
It's just like getting a brand new pair again.
So, that's pretty cool.
Yeah, looking good.
Thanks, man. So--yeah, we'll see.
I guess we'll keep everyone updated.
Maybe wash these again in another 2 years.
Maybe a little bit less.
Another 6, 7 months we'll come back and see how these babies are doing.
Can't wait. We'll keep everyone posted.
Yeah, stay-tuned, man.
