In my first year at
USF, I have become more involved than I ever thought I would be.
In my first month, I went through formal recruitment to join a sorority and ended up
becoming a part of Alpha Omicron Pi.
As a sister of AOII, I have several events each week
and chapter every Sunday, where we discuss and vote on bylaws, events and
more
It is a huge commitment but I love being able to help others
and create a bond with my sisters. Our philanthropy is juvenile arthritis and we raise
money throughout the year every year to help kids who suffer from arthritis.
It means a lot to me to be a part of something so important.
I also joined USF cheer club in my first month on campus.
For the fall semester I was a regular member before becoming secretary second
semester.
Having a leadership position is fun because I am able to be a bigger part of
a sport that I love.
In the club, we jump, stunt, tumble and dance and do several performances to
showcase our abilities.
Next month, we will be performing and volunteering at Relay-for-Life,
Last month, we performed at Dance Marathon
in front of a large crowd.
In January, I auditioned to become a USF Diamond Doll and ended up making the squad.
As a Diamond Doll, it is my responsibility to uphold a positive image and support USF
baseball.
I now cheer and dance at USF baseball games regularly and love my
teammates.
Though at times balancing all of these things can be stressful I'm proud of
myself for becoming so involved
and hope to continue being a big part of campus for my entire college career.
