‘Week Three’ Presentation
Hello, and welcome to Week Three.
This week, you will learn more about the services offered at the SUNY Adirondack Library, located
in the Scoville Learning Center on the main, Queensbury Campus. A link has been provided
within the ‘Library Virtual Tour’ folder, here in the ‘Lesson One / Week Three’
folder. Click on the link provided to access the Virtual Tour, then return to the ‘Lesson
One / Week Three’ folder to complete a short quiz about the information presented about
the library.
This week, you will also view a presentation titled ‘First Semester and Millennial Students’.
This presentation has been provided as a captioned vodcast, as an ANGEL text-document and as
a downloadable PDF document. Again, choose the version or versions that best suit your
needs as an individual learner.
The presentation is intended to provide you with information about the first semester
of college and to provide you with information from research studies about generational differences.
People are living longer, working longer and returning to school at various stages in their
life in ways not experienced before in American history. This presentation is designed to
get you thinking about your generation and how you see yourself fitting in with your
generation, or at least what the research has been saying about your generation.
Based on the information provided in the presentation, you will complete the ‘First Semester and
Millennial Students Quiz’, located in the ‘Lesson One / Week Three’ folder. It’s
more of a survey than a quiz; I’m more interested in getting your opinion between different
choices than about determining right or wrong answers.
Finally, you will submit your Freshman Seminar Topic from the three options listed: memory
and study strategies; or goal setting and time management; or career development.
Additional instructions can be found within the ‘Lesson One / Week Three’ folder.
Remember, in order to keep pace with the Course Schedule, you will want to have these assignments
completed by the end of Week Three. All course assignments are due by the course end date
listed on the syllabus and schedule in order to be eligible to receive full credit or 100%
of the points an assignment is worth.
