Welcome to the BioServe Space Technologies Explanation of Habitat 1. Habitat 1 could
be setup to fly a wide variety of organisms. Today, I have Habitat 1 setup to fly spiders
and setup to fly butterflies. Starting with the spiders, we have an LED light system that
provides white light and infrared light for the spiders within. The Habitat also has a
vent system on the side that allows for breathability for our spiders within. Also, as you can tell,
the spider setup is noticeably dark which allows for better imaging quality of the spider
and its web. The spider setup also has a mini habitat that sits on a back wall. As you can
see, the mini habitat has four chambers that can hold water, food or additional organisms.
The mini habitat is also attached with the plunger system that allows for astronauts
to come in and open each door individually allowing for organisms to come in and out
of each chamber. Next, we have the butterfly setup. As you can tell, it is similar to that
of the spider setup but differs in the mini-hab that sits on the back wall. The mini-hab is
attached with a two-plunger system that allows for food and nectar for the butterfly within.
Additionally, the habitat is lighter in color to help improve image quality. So, in conclusion,
you can--as you can tell, Habitat 1 can change its lighting, its habitat, mini habitat and
its color to help support your organism of choice. With that being said, we look forward
to your submission and wish you the best of luck.
