Pffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffff
It's hot.
Anyway...
It's been a while since I made a video
and that is because..
I have been on vacation!
It was the first time this summer I went away,
so it was really awesome,
and it was extra awesome because
together with my parents, brother and sister,
I went to New York City!
One of the coolest things,
book related things,
we did was visiting The Strand,
and if all is right you should see some footage
now!
In is such an amazing bookstore!
They advertise with “18 miles of books”
and it really is huge!
They have EVERYTHING
and so many things are really cheap!
Omg
it was awesome!
Stay have several floors
with many different departments,
relaly hight book cases,
which make labyrinth,
you can really wander about,
they have new books, second hand book,
they have an entire room full of really old
and special editions
and its really....
I loved it!
In the end I had a stack about this high
that I would have liked to take home,
which I obviously couldn't.
I told myself I had to restrict myself to two books
and that really hurt because among other things
I had to leave a copy of City of Bones of 5 dollar
and a copy of the lovely bones
and jkzxcnfkxzcbfzldks;jf
Eventually I did buy 2 books:
The Book Thief, by Markus Zusak,
which I already read on the flight home
and it was awesome.
I also want to show the wonder of American paperbacks:
Look: they open this far!
While nothing happens to the spine of the books!
In comparison
Dutch paperbakcs do nothing!
So if you are not really careful they break...
I will make a seperate video about this,
so then you'll hear more about it,
but I can already recommend this wholeheartedly to all of you.
And the 2nd book I bought is
Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury.
This is a book I have been looking for a really long time,
basically since John and Hank from the Vlogbrothers
did a Nerdfighter Bookclub on this
but I couldn't find it anywhere in the Netherlands! h
These however were not my most important bookrelated purchases I brought from the states;
The most imporant would be this:
my new e-reader.
It is a Sony
Sony touch wifi or something
but I am completely addicted!
A while ago my father found an usb stick close to their home,
which he brought home to see if he could find out who it beloned too,
that didn't work out but there were about 1300 ebooks on that stick.
We went through it for a while and
I put 82 books on here that i'd like to read...
what am I doing to myself...
but oh well..
These 3 I already read:
Sophomore Switch,
Around the World in 80 days
and Eragon
I also almost finished the second book of the Inheritance Series (the eldest) soooo....
I am really surprised with how much I enjoy reading on it,
because I expected that I could never find a screen to be as good as an actual book
but this..
It's so easy to read and it weighs almost nothing
ahh
This thing
contains about as many book as this entire bookcase!
Its Awesome!
So that was New York,
I took a ton of footage and I will definitely make some other vlogs with that,
but I will upload those to my other channel,
which you can find here.
That was it for today,
I am back from vacation,
so I have all the time to make videos again :)
see you next time!
