Hi everyone, recently I bought myself a set of Craft scissors so I can try the chevron nails
But instead of doing it horizontally, I did a vertical version
I really liked how it turned out and with some simple dots and decorations they can look like a set of easter egg
Hope you like these nails and give it a try yourself. You can do the chevron design any time of the year not just for easter
As always, apply base coat to protect your nails
To create the Chevron print, first apply some nail polish over a sheet of sticker paper, or wax paper, something that's non stick
You can use thick plastic bags too but paper is easier to cut
Leave it for a few hours to dry. Then when it's ready use the zigzag shaped craft scissors to cut them into strips
Once you've cut up the pieces, you will find that some will have already fallen off the paper
If not you can easily peel the nail polish off the sheet with a pair of tweezers
When you line them up, Some will look like diamonds and some will be the chevron shapes we are after
Pick them out and put them aside. make sure you have enough for all your nails
For your nails, pick 2 colors and apply one shade to each side of the nail
it doesn't have to be too neat in the middle as it will be covered up later
While the polish is still wet, place the strip along the middle of the nail, press it down slightly so it sticks flat onto the nail
Any extra bits left over, you can remove it with a filer
You can try other color combinations for your other nails to get a nice little rainbow effect
To clean up around the cuticles, I'm using this double ended gel brush dotting tool dual available from my website
I haven't tried gel nails before but I find this tool very handy to clean around the cuticles
Dip it in nail polish remover and wipe away the unwanted polish around the nails
To decorate, You can add rows of dots on the nail just like how you would decorate an easter egg
Or you can dot in a couple of flowers also using the dotting tool
Apply 5 dots to form a flower
Reapply the dots to create the shape that you want and fill in the middle section
You can use the same colour scheme to dot in the flower centres
Then a few more random dots to fill in the spaces
On my Ring finger, I went with some decals
Apply top coat as adhesive and place different sized studs on the nail
I chose a couple of star shapes and round studs
All the nails are super easy to recreate. Once your done, apply top coat to seal in the decals and prolong the wearing time of your manicure
