Capcom's Remember Me – a high-concept action game that meddles with memory – will be
out on Xbox 360, PS3, and PC first in the US on June 4th, making its way to Europe a
few days later on June 7th.
The game is developed by a new French Studio called Dontnod Entertainment, and follows
Nilin, a 'memory hunter' who infiltrates people's minds, remixing their memories, in a near-future
version of Paris. The catch is that Nilin suffers from amnesia and can’t remember
her own memories.
It feels a little like a third-person Mirror’s Edge, with plenty of climbing and free-running
around the architecture of Neo-Paris.
Speaking to Computer and Video Games last year, Remember Me's creative director, Jean-Maxime
Moris, explained his choice not to make another “man with a gun” game.
Quote: “Our character, Nilin, is mixed race, she is female, her *** orientation is her
private life, so I won't go there.
“She runs around, climbs, leaps, kicks guys' ***, remixes their memories, only kills
a few people - and does it all in a game with no blood.
“We made those choices to say: 'look you can have something that's kick ***, something
that's powerful, and you don't need it to be ultraviolent'.”
Again, Remember Me is out June 4th in the U.S. -- right before E3 begins.
