Male talking: Well the career fair is an important place
to recruit for a couple of reasons. One, it gives us an opportunity to meet students that we
might not meet through the career website or who might not have responded to a job posting.
Two, it gives us an opportunity to interact face to face with the-with the candidates as opposed
to just having to go off a resume exclusively.
Next talking male: I'm looking for jobs that have a lot of leadership potential.
Female talking: I'm looking for one in sales.
Next male: I'm-I'm really looking at consulting jobs.
Next female: Well the advice I would tell them is not to
give up because there are jobs out there. Sometimes you may have to take something that's
not quite in your field, but that doesn't mean you have to stay there.
Next female: Well besides the career fair, I've gone to
A&M's career center website and then also just going to company's websites
Next male: I've looked on books on Barnes & Noble's bookshelves
for jobs in Texas areas.
Next female: I actually got on monster.com and posted my
resume not too long ago. Well, today through the career fair, I've had a really positive experience.
I've been talking to several companies. I definitely did my research.
Next male: I feel like career is important because, whereas
in other places you're looking to get hired by companies and here companies are
coming to A&M to hire Aggies.
Next female: I think it is very important because you
get one on one time with people actually face to face. And you actually get your resume out there. It's
not just dropping it, you never see it. You actually get to hand it to someone.
Next female: I think that it gives students a really good opportunity
to meet potential employers, get to learn what's important on a resume, what people
are looking for.
Next female: I mean, the only thing to do is be really aggressive
in you job search and, you know, don't be as picky as you probably would have been before.
