Hello! I'm Cynthia Sue Larson of RealityShifters.com and today I'm talking about getting a fresh
perspective. One of my favorite authors is American author, James Thurber. He has a fabulous
quote that I think sums up one of the best things that we can all keep in mind, and that
is, "Let us not look back in anger, let's not look forward in fear, but let's look around
in a state of awareness." When we do that, what we'll notice is that a lot of the things that
we thought were big, bad problems aren't so big and bad after all. In fact, most of the
things that we're concerned about when we are worried about people pushing our buttons
or that there are certain people who just know how to get under our skin, or if we are
feeling sorry for ourselves--like things just seem to be going wrong--we can separate ourselves
from that actor or actress on a stage--like Shakespeare said, "All the world's a stage,"
and we can step back and observe that part of ourselves that is experiencing all that.
When we move our perspective from the person who is in the middle of all of the drama to
that part of consciousness which can rise up above it, we've achieved a huge shift in
perspective which can bring us the only kind of peace, love, happiness and joy sometimes
that we can feel in very difficult times and situations. And in fact, when we start learning
how to keep our heart open no matter what's going on, then we can reach a place of enlightenment
described in this beautiful book, The Untethered Soul. And for anybody who's not read it, I
highly recommend it. This book is very much a how-to journal. It's not just a description
of what has happened for one person, Michael Singer, the author, but it shows how each
one of us can start observing that part of us that is feeling the feelings and thinking
the thoughts. And as soon as we do that, we're beginning to make a shift that can transform
our lives. So with that thought, I hope that you can find out how good your life can get,
and I wish you a wonderful month! Take care... 'til next time.
