Hello! My name is Mari Miyazawa
Today I will be making animal hamburgers
The ingredients are:
hamburger buns, hamburger patties, ham,
cheese dog, sliced baloney, roast beef slices,
sliced cheese, lettuce, olives,
ketchup, mayonnaise and some seaweed (nori)
Use some thickly sliced baloney to make the cat ears
Use a circle- shaped cutter
To cut a crescent shape out of the baloney
We'll use the other part for the ear
Cut it in half,
and then we're going to stick the ears into the bun
Make angled incisions into the bun where you want the ears,
but not too deeply
Then, take the ears
and stick them into the incisions,
Like this
With that, the cat's ears are done
Like that, see?
Then,
if you want to make the ears cuter,
take some sliced cheese
and cut triangles
with a toothpick
and stick the cheese onto the baloney
That way,
the insides of the ears are white
and the cat will look cuter
Like this
For the nose,
we'll use olives
Use a pitted olive
Lay the olive down on its side
and cut a v- shape into it
That way,
you can cut a slit into the middle
Find where you want the nose to be
and make a little cut into the bun
and "clip" the nose
into place
That way,
the nose won't fall off,
and now the cat has a cute triangle nose
Then, next to the nose
use toothpicks to give it whiskers,
two on each side
If you're making this burger for a child,
you can use dry noodles or pasta instead
to avoid potential injury
Now, let's give the cat eyes
Take an olive,
cut it in half, then
cut two curved slices
Take the slices,
and situate them above the nose
The cat's face is complete
You can use mayo to "glue" the eyes in place
Don't forget that cats have tails!
For the tail, we'll take a bun half,
and use its curved edge
Use a circle cutter and cut a thin crescent
Now the cat has a tail
Make sure to save that bun half for later
Lastly, we're going to make the cat's paws
Use some thick ham and a flower- shaped cutter
and cut paws from the ham
Lift the cat up
and place the paws underneath
That way, the cat's paws
are perfectly in place
The cat is now complete!
For the dog, we'll use an extra bun half,
so it will have 3 layers
We'll use folded roast beef for the ears
Sliced roast beef comes in different sizes,
but just fold it like this,
so it looks nice and floppy
Like this
Also, make sure
the ear isn't too long that it "drags"
Take a toothpick
and secure the ear in place
Take the other slice and repeat
The ears are done
Now, let's make the nose
Like the cat, we'll use a pitted olive
Stand the olive up
and cut away one fourth of it
It should look like this
From the side, it will look square
"Clip" it into the bun like the cat's nose
The dog has a rounded square nose
Doesn't it look like a dog's nose?
Then, we'll give it whiskers too
For the eyes, use slices of cheese dog and seaweed
If you're worried they'll fall off,
use mayo to "glue" the eyes on
Now take the seaweed and hole puncher,
and punch a few times
Use the pieces
and stick eyeballs onto the eyes
With that, the dog's face is complete
Now take that leftover bun half from before,
and a circle cutter
and make a tail
Like with the cat,
take thick ham slices
and cut paws with the flower- shaped cutter
The preparation is done!
Now let's cook the patties
The patties are cooked
Let's assemble
We'll assemble directly on the serving plate
It will come out better that way
Start at the very bottom with the paws
Here are the cat's
and the dog's paws
Then,
place the bottom layer of the buns
As an option,
place veggies
and/ or cheese,
and whatever else you want in your burger
Once you place the burger patties,
you can spread ketchup, mayo, etc.
Any sauces/ flavoring you want
After that, layer on the faces
and arrange the tails
Repeat with the dog
The dog is now complete
The dog is taller because it has two patties
For the tail,
it looks cute wedged into the middle layer
If you want to make them even cuter,
take thin slices of baloney
and stick them underneath the top bun
where their mouths should be,
to give them playful expressions
What do you think?
Isn't it much better than a plain old burger?
Please give it a try!
