>> Joe: Notorious enemy of the United States…film industry Kim Dotcom has officially stepped
into the political ring in New Zealand by launching a new political party:
>> Joe and Will: The Internet Party >> Will: When he’s not fighting back US
officials attempting to extradite him to US soil for that whole MegaUpload thing, Dot
Com will be campaigning to integrate the Internet Party into Parliament… but it won’t be
easy. >> Joe: The IP…get it… will need to grab
5% of the vote or win an en electoral seat to enter parliament, and Kim Dot Com can’t
run for office himself because he’s a German national. So, the best move for the internet
party is to convince a current member of Parliament to switch affiliations… and I hears that
there is some rambling that that could actually happen. I mean, who doesn’t love the internet?
And who doesn’t love parties? >> Will: The internet party will run on a
platform that promises to give the New Zealand people faster, cheaper internet,
>> Joe: Yes. >> Will: to create high-tech jobs.
>> Joe: Sure. >> Will: Protect privacy.
>> Joe: I feel my body being slightly swayed. >> Will: And to safeguard independence.
>> Joe: Sold. Take my votes. I can’t vote? Cause I don’t live in New Zealand? Fine.
Run for US president. You can’t? Cause our movie industry hates you? And that whole German
national thing? And I don’t understand American Politics? Cool.
>> Will: Mr. Dot Com also says he’d push for an encrypted and secure New Zealand based
digital currency. The internet party is for the future.
>> Joe: Sure, if Kim Dot Com’s Internet Party finds a secure footing in the New Zealand
government, relations with the US might suffer a bit, but really, no one likes us anyways.
>> Will: Will this work? Who knows. One thing is for certain, it won’t be easy. Julian
Assange tried last year but only scooped up .66% of the vote.
>> Joe: And I don’t really understand the political climate of New Zealand or the level
of love attributed to Dot Com by the people…so all our New Zealand fans? What you think of
all this? You know what? What does everyone think of this? Let us know..
