Today we’re going to talk about Avastin and treatment of breast cancer. In November
2011, the FDA announced that it is removing its approval of the use of Avastin for the
treatment of breast cancer. The use of Avastin poses the risks of heart attacks, heart failures,
hemorrhaging, and perforations in different parts of the body including the nose, the
stomach, and the intestines. At the same time, the FDA determined that there were insufficient
proof that Avastin was effective for the treatment of breast cancer. This does not affect the
use of Avastin for the treatment of other types of cancers, only for the treatment of
breast cancer. If you or a loved one use Avastin for the treatment of breast cancer and suffer
heart attack, heart failure, or perforation of the body and have questions about what
this means for you, give us a call. Our number is 800-585-1190. We can help. I’m Bernard
Daskal, thank you for watching.
