I had a client who had lost his license because of a DUI arrest.
His biggest concern was, could he get it back in time to save his job?
We requested a driver's license hearing, and after meeting with the driver's license
hearing officer we were able to cut the suspension time in half.
Ultimately he was able to get his license back in time for christmas, and
in time to keep his job.
In utah, if you've been arrested for DUI, most people want to know "Am I going
to lose my license?".
The answer, maybe.
Right now, what i have seen is that about fifty percent of the people will lose
their license, and fifty percent will be able to keep it.
It depends on a number of things.
On a first offense, DUI, you may be looking at losing your license from four
months, up to eighteen months. On a second offense, two, or as many as three years of
suspension time.
However, with a good attorney you might be able to cut that suspension time in
half, or maybe keep your license from being suspended at all.
