Hi, I'm Stephanie Chambers founder of MERRI Mysteries.com. That's Merri with an "I". I'm
also the author of "Why Mystery Parties Make Magic Happen". My aim is to bring more bliss
into people's lives. How can you host a mystery party?
Begin by reading the host guide of the mystery party kit. Set an early time for your party
to start so that people won't be trying to work out who did it late at night. Ideally
send out the invitations 2 weeks in advance. Ask people to RSVP at least a week before
the party. After everyone has RSVP'd, print out the mystery party kit clues.
Buy all the necessary supplies and the prizes. Plan any music you want to play at the party.
Clean your house the day before the party. You may also like to decorate the party area
ahead of time. Most kits come with decoration suggestions.
On the day of the party, prepare the food. Make sure it's food that can be kept warm
until needed so that you aren't trapped in the kitchen. Put a balloon outside so people
know it's the party house. Take photos as guests arrive. Begin by reading
out the rules and then introduce the suspects. Run the party as instructed to in the kit.
Then have everyone write down who they think did it and how and why they did it. Go around
the group and have everyone say what they have written. Then read the "who did it" pages
and give prizes to those who had the best costume or who worked out who did it.
