Uh, it's been good. Lots of great people and
not too much sleep going on,
but you know when you get to meet people,
your flat mates and stuff, at first you don't really see them,
then when you get to meet them and you have
something in common, finding it's all really good.
I've just had my induction today.
Like when you have to try and get on the course and
get used to it and things, like
I've had two days of having loads of fun,
it kind of brings you a little bit back down to earth,
you'll actually be doing work and things like that.
But when you're getting used to it and things.
But it's sinking in quite well.
I'm doing Business IT in my course so
I'll be the IT guy of the block.
They've tried to incorporate lots of activities in my course.
It's not just lectures and sitting there
and listening to someone talk.
One of the induction things we're doing is we have to
watch a video of Ironman and see how
information technology is used ethically, in group work -
so it's all kind of mixed - seminars, we get a speaker
come in, we get our lecturer just talks at us for a bit,
we take it in and then we activate together
at what they've said in the lecture.
So it's more of a mix -- I thought we would just be sitting there
taking notes all the time, but no it's quite a mix.
To start with I looked at how close the university was
to where I lived in case I had to get home
and visit other people and things like that,
but the really important thing I looked at was
specifically for my course -- Business and IT,
so I looked at the league tables like for unis.
I expected uni to be a little bit more open, kind of thing.
See when I came here, I didn't have much to do
for the first couple of hours and things,
but then you get into the events, that’s more
what I was expecting, it's much more like open
and exciting and you meet people,
but like the first time I got here I was worried that I
wasn’t going to click, because you’re sitting there on your own
and I only knew my mate Jamie and he hadn't moved in yet
so I was just a, but no it's the same open, exciting
experience when you get to know people so it is all good.
The uni offers me nightlife and an education and
I can't think you'd want much more from a uni than that.
That's pretty fantastic. So two days in and I'm all good.
