Hello and welcome to Todd's kitchen. Todays recipe is a classic recipe and there are many
variations out there but today im going to show you one of my versions that i
guarantee you're going to love. So join me today as i make my version of spaghetti and meatballs.
So we are going to start by making our meatballs.
So into a bowl place in our beef mince
Then to that place in one brown onion that i have roughly chopped up
One peeled and grated carrot, our finely chooped up parsley
one beaten egg
our breadcrumbs
and our crumbled up feta cheese
using clean hands of course get right in there
and give it a very good mix around
just until everything is well combined and mixed through
Next i have a bowl with plain flour and to that add some salt
and some pepper
and give it a quick mix through
Next i have some of our meat and have rolled it into our meatball sized ball
So place it into the flour
and what we are going to do is
coat it in the flower
just so
its nice and coated
just like that then continue on until their all done.
Now that i have made out meat balls i have a pan on a medium to high
heat, to that drizzle on some olive oil
and then with our meat balls
place them on the pan and cook them for about two to three minutes
just until their cooked all the way through
So once your meat balls have been cooked all the way through
Its just a simple matter of taking them off
the fry pan
and placing them into a sealed container
No we are going to make the sauce for our meat balls so i have a pot on the stove on a medium to high heat
add some olive oil
Then to that add in one
onion that i have just roughy chopped up
and two roughly chopped cloves of garlic
Continue to stir the onions until the soften. It should onyl take about one minute.
Now that the onions have softened up add in two tablespoons of
tomato paste
then stir that through
Next pour in our beef stock
and a four hundred gram can of diced tomatoes
give that a very good stir through
i have lowered the temperature down to a low to medium heat and what we are going to do is
let this simmer away for about fifteen to twenty minutes just until the liquid
decreases by half.
So we have a nice thick sauce.
So our sauce has reduced by half and it is smelling fantastic
So now its just a simple matter of returning our meatballs to the pot
just make sure their all
covered by our
meatball sauce
and we are going to cover it up and let it simmer away for fifteen minutes
and in that fifty minutes
the meat balls will soak up that lovely sauce and finish cooking
While our meatballs are simmering away this is the perfect time to do our pasta
Into a pot of salted hot water place in our pasta
Now bring this up to the boil and cook for ten minutes until it is al dente
al dente is not to hard, not to soft but just right
These have been simmering away for fifteen minutes and i'll tell you what
these smell fantastic. So all we have to do is take them off the heat and plate them up.
now just place some delicious
meatballs onto our spaghetti
the only thing left now is to sprinkle on some parmesan cheese
And these spaghetti meatballs are done and i'll tell you what
lets see if they taste fantastic as they smell fantastic
i can tell you
with all honesty
they taste better then they smell. It really is a lovely lovely
combination. Now i have tried a number of meatballs
recipes in the past
but i can honestly tell you
out all of them this one tastes simply delicious
and it was so easy to make
now this recipe will easily serve
four people
so you may want to make a little more because they will want seconds
