I thought I was supposed to look glowing and happy right now. How should I feel at 9 weeks
pregnant?
Tired and nauseous are pretty standard for that time frame.
What do you mean?
About four out of every five pregnant women has morning sickness in at least the first
trimester, which is where you are now. Because your body is changing to accommodate the baby
and build up blood flow to it, it is common to be tired.
I’m not tired. I’m exhausted.
Part of that could be due to the dehydration morning sickness brings. Part of it could
be anemia made worse by food aversions common during morning sickness.
What’s the solution?
Drink plenty of water and electrolytes. For anemia, your best solution is a great, big
steak.
That would result in a great, big mess.
There are vitamins you could take to offset the mineral deficiencies. Or ask your doctor
for an iron supplement.
The doctor says I only need to come in once a month.
If you’re really sick, you can go in before the monthly checkup.
My ankles are swelling up to the size of grapefruit. It’s like I have baby cankles.
Get up and get moving to reduce the fluid retention. But talk to the doctor before you
take a diuretic, or you could get even more dehydrated.
I’ve also had horrible back cramps, my *** are swollen, and I keep having to go to the
bathroom.
Try sleeping on your side to ease the back pain. Your *** will get even bigger -
The baby’s daddy will like that.
While you’re eating for two, you’re also peeing for two, which is why you have to go
to the bathroom so much.
To know that this is the normal way to feel doesn’t help me feel any better.
