반갑습니다! Steve you're tall guy
I'm a tall guy and I just equates to one thing
it's difficult to find clothes in korea here in Busan
at the vast majority of shops
the biggest size that I see is typically
an XL. The thing is that's the equivalent of a large
back in America and seeing that I wear an XL
in America I need to find an
X X X L
here in Korea, and that is not working for me
nowadays I usually just walk into a store
look at the store clerk and say
큰 사이즈 있습니까?
give them a moment to look at me and then just wait for the inevitable
response which is a big bold no
shoes are a whole other story I wear a size 13 in the US which is the
equivalent of about a 310 here
in Korea, and quite simply they essentially don't exist
whether it be athletic shoes, hiking shoes
or anything in between the biggest sizes that I ever see
pretty much max out at like 10 or 11 US size
all that being said after close to three years here in
Korea I figured out a few ways to get new clothes
when I need them. For example, in some of the outdoor markets
or "시장" you can find stores that carry would be deemed big and tall
like this store here says "큰 사이즈"
which means big size. Though there are rare occasions when I see something that
isn't too bad
most of the selection seems like they're just leftovers from
other normal-sized people stores or just reject styles altogether
There's some western or european-based stores like H&M
where there's a much better chance of finding my size and in something that is
actually in style
Price tags aside, stores like these are usually good choice
Sometimes at Korea's largest department store Lotte, which is like Macy's,
I can find a few items in my size but it's really not that often
More uptown from where I live is a greater concentration of foreigners which means the
stores typically carry more the Western sizes but
it's really not that often. Shoes like I said worst case scenario I have not
found my size shoe
in any name brand since I got here though there've been a couple stores that
have offered to
order my size. As you may or may not know Steve
in the public school system here teachers have to change their shoes and
wear slippers in the school
but seeing that the soles of the slippers that they have don't even reach
my heels
I have to bring my own shoes. In Chinatown there's a large russian population
because this
I was able to find some knock of sneakers to wear school but
the quality is pretty questionable they serve a purpose though
when I went home for my teacher certification exams I picked up a pair
Skechers but
other than that the only other option I have is to order online.
So Steve, here's the deal. Seeing that the KTX high-speed rail can get me to
Seoul in like three hours
do you give me some tips on how to find some fitting clothing to buy
literally...fitting. See you next time, Steve. Folks, be sure to subscribe QiRangers
vlog channel to hear both sides have our stories on our "KAM Chats"
Korea And More. Thanks for watching I'll see you next time...
Peace!
