Let us say at the studio that you apprenticed at, there is no job for you
at the end of your apprenticeship. Let us be real here, nobody is selling
nonsense, nobody is selling BS here. You may not get a job after you are
done your apprenticeship at the studio you trained at, so what do you do?
You go to your mentor, the guy who trained you, and ask 'Do you have anyone
that you can recommend me to?'
Remember, new work is coming up all the time. People are calling your
mentor for new jobs. Guess who he is going to recommend if his professional
contacts call him for a recommendation? He is going to recommend you. Why?
He trained you, he can trust you. He can, all in good faith, recommend you
because he knows your work ethic. The only way you are ever going to know
somebody, who can vouch for you, in other words, recommend you, is if you
have worked under them.
