HARRIS: Protecting your class schedule is very easy; it's nothing to stress over. It's
just a few easy steps on the computer, it's just a matter of taking a few minutes to get
it done. And the quicker you get it done the easier it is to move on with the rest of your
semester.
OWEN: All students need to go online and protect their class schedules. Our goal is to help
students succeed we want to make things easy for students. Protecting your class schedule
will activate your meal plan, it will activate your Beaker Bucks. This will allow students
to charge books, and most importantly it will also protect your class schedule, so that
your schedule is not lost.
LILES: Enrolling in a payment plan and protecting your class schedule are the same process.
In fact, there are 3 ways to protect your class schedule: one, of course, is you can
pay your balance in full, the other is to enroll in a payment plan if you have a balance
after financial aid has been applied, and the third is if you have have enough financial
aid to cover your balance, you can enroll in the free financial aid payment plan.
OWEN: Any student who receives financial aid, if you receive enough financial aid, scholarships,
waivers to cover your bill in full, you will enroll in a financial aid plan, there will
be no payment due within this plan, you'll just log-in and select this plan.
Students will go to www.moreheadstate.edu, login to MyMoreheadstate, here you will enter
your EagleID, and your password, select the Finance icon, select MyBilling Info. These
are the instructions for students to help them select which plan they need to enroll
in to protect their class schedule. Okay, this is where students will see their current
account activity so you'll see the balance, the estimated financial aid, and the net balance.
So the next thing we will do is enroll in a payment plan, and for this student we have
enough financial aid to cover the bill in full so we'll select the financial aid plan.
This is a plan for Fall 2012. The student will review the financial aid plan details
and select “continue.” Select “display payment schedule,” since this is the financial
aid plan there is no payment due, so you will want to select “No, I do not want to set
up payments.” Okay, this is the last step, this is your agreement, you'll just select
“I agree,” and “continue.” Okay and this is your confirmation that you have successfully
enrolled in the financial aid plan.
If a student has a balance due, so you could receive some aid or no aid, and you have a
balance due, then you'll need to enroll in a standard payment plan. This will allow students
the opportunity to set up payments for the balance that they have due.
LILES: If you have an outside scholarship, for example from a community group, from a
bank that offers that at your school, you can add that to your financial aid award letter
by writing that on the letter and submitting it to the financial aid office. You can also
email the office at finaid@moreheadstate.edu, that's f-i-n-a-i-d, and provide the source
of the scholarship and the total amount and we’ll add that to your award letter. It
is important to note for that to be included in your balance for the payment plan process,
we do have to actually receive the check from that organization to include that amount.
OWEN: Any student that has a tuition waiver, they need to complete that form and have that
sent in by August first, it will probably take several days after that, but then they'll
just need to go back in and check their account to make sure that has posted, because they
won't be able to enroll in a plan until after that has been applied to their account.
FLANNERY: We don't apply financial aid to the student accounts until after classes start.
So, if they, the sooner they get in a plan the sooner they can charge their books at
the bookstore and get their meal plans activated so that when they come on campus they are
ready to go.
Once they've done the process, they've looked over their financial aid awards, everything
is in place, their bill is in order, the residence hall that they wanted is there, the meal plan
that they chose, so when they come onto campus that's one less thing they have to worry about.
OWEN: Another thing that is important is to go online and sign up for direct deposit for
student refunds. Student refunds will be available on August 31st, these will be direct deposited
or mailed to students' home addresses.
