Hey guys! We are GLSEN Student Ambassadors, and we're going to go through our top 10 list of what to do with your GSA.
Talk to your school librarian about adding LGBT-inclusive books to your school library.
Bring attention to the effects of anti-LGBT bullying by participating in the Day of Silence.
Call your local representatives and ask them to support safe school legislation. If they already do, thank them.
Attend other club meetings around your school. Be supportive of other clubs.
Talk to your school administrators about GLSEN's Safe Space Kit.
If your school doesn't already have one, tell them why it's important that they do.
Create a resource list of LGBT-friendly organizations in your community and share this with GSA members and allies.
Learn and celebrate LGBT history by listening to Unheard Voices.
These are modern-day accounts of LGBT heroes.
Create an affirming and confidential environment for GSA members.
Let everyone know that your meetings are a place where they can be themselves.
Host a get-together with other GSAs in your community.
It's a great way for you to swap ideas, make friends and think about how you can make your school safer on a larger scale.
Let your schools and communities know how much you value your allies.
Host an event to celebrate Ally Week at your school.
Ok, so that should get you started.
