Hi my name is Ken, I am part of the Windgap team. Since 1953, we have been supporting
people with intellectual disabilities to live life to its fullest potential. Funded by a
group of people whose children have been denied schooling Windgap has grown from one residence
in Coogee. One of Sydney's longest serving, most respected, disability support foundation,
funding many different service, residential service, day program, transition to work,
Australian Disability Enterprise.Windgap improves the quality of life of people with intellectual
disabilities by supporting them in reaching their full potential and raising community
awareness as to their needs and aspirations. And you can help us achieve all these things
and more by becoming a volunteer here at The Windgap Foundation. are dedicated to create
opportunities of growth, development and learning.As a volunteer, you will be playing a vital role
in the lives of these amazing people. You can be a part of our day programs doing a
number of things like cooking, arts and crafts, gardening, pet therapy or even literacy and
numeracy training. Support one of our special calender events such as the windgap ball or
a regular disco. Immense yourself in our fundraising program or community activity or participate
in our transport runs. Join our Growability team which offers many valuable employment
for people with disabilities such as lawn mowing and garden care. Support our food and
hospitality activities or sign up as a buddy with one of our clients you can even offer
admin support at our head office at our windgap site the list is endless! so who can be a
part of our volunteer program? we welcome all walks of life here at Windgap whether
you are business enterprise, a student or an individual with time and talents to spare.
Help for hairdresser, a motivated mechanic, talented dancer. Do you have a passion for
gardening, a flair for painting or is there an inner Jamie Oliver waiting to be unleashed
whether you are willing to donate a few hours a day, a week, or a month your contribution
will be valuable and rewarding to windgap and the people we support. There are so many
benefits to being a volunteer. You will be fostering community spirit and connecting
with new people. Facilitating learning of new skills, boosting the confidence of those
we support, promoting social inclusion and social justice. Building healthy relationships
