Hi, my name is Franc Anderson and I'd like to talk to you today about how to be the best
one in a portrait. First of all gentlemen, just two rules, wear long sleeves and make
sure your tie is straight. Ladies, if you must use short sleeves then make sure that
your arms are well toned. If you have to wear something around your neckline then make sure
it's not too distracting and that you don't show too much cleavage, make sure that your
bra is supportive and make sure that your straps don't show. Hair can be relatively
messy, think of all those models you see in photographs, it's not necessary to have hair
which is absolutely perfect. Ladies as far as makeup is concerned, make sure that your
foundation blends at your neckline and be careful, if it's a warm day, don't overdo
it. As far as posing is concerned, don't stand square onto the camera. Always make sure that
you are slightly turned, that your shoulders are slightly turned from the camera, that
your head is about three quarters rather than front on and make sure that your chin is a
little bit low, this emphasizes your eyes. Finally, your expression. Generally speaking,
with most people it's better to smile but try to make sure that your mouth opens slightly
and that your face doesn't look too tight. Saying cheese actually does work.
