Hi my name is Sunny and I am a graduate student at the University of Florida.
So, its June and summer is here, so you might want something cool,
refreshing and fruity for dessert or snack.
One of the tastiest things that I like to make
on a hot summer day is a custom made, mixed berry smoothie.
I say custom made because you could put almost anything in a smoothie
as long as it ends up tasting good.
So for this one, I am going to do some frozen, mixed berries.
Of course you can use fresh berries instead, but I usually like to save those to eat
by themselves instead of to grind up.
Of course, if I happen to have some fresh berries that are sub-par or if I go
to a pick-your-own farm and end up with way too many of them,
then of course I'll use some for smoothies.
So, the frozen berries can actually be more convenient to use sometimes,
especially because the fact that they're frozen gives the smoothies a thicker texture.
When I use fresh berries, I usually end up adding some ice cream to make it thicker.
So, you have your frozen berries and I've already put them in the blender.
And I'm going to add just enough milk to not quite cover the top of the berries.
Remember, you can always make the smoothie thinner,
but its more difficult to make it thicker.
So, just turn the blender on.
Make sure the top is good and tight.
And you might need to hit the pulse button a few times.
And you can also add a little vanilla extract to it or whatever flavoring you like.
And it should come out beautiful, colorful, and absolutely delicious.
And there it is.
