Terrier Tech so awesome. Here we have a pen right here you can play the piano with.
Welcome to another Terrier Tech. We're here to review the Livescribe Echo Smartpen: a
device aimed at all you kiddos who have trouble studying, or remembering what they learned
in a lecture.
You simply take the business end of this pen, push it on paper and voila you can create
instant high-quality digital notes.
So you can pick this up at Target, Best Buy, Staples or on the company's website, and they
have three different varieties depending on how many gigabytes you need and they range
in price from 100 to 180 dollars.
I don't know about you, Courtney, but I was very skeptical at first when they got it.
I mean, like, sweet, now I can write on paper for 150 bucks.
But it does so much more than that! It syncs up the audio with whatever you're writing
at them time and then afterwards you can download your notes into a pdf and put them on your
computer where you can organize and share them.
Yeah, I found it surprisingly useful, especially for classes that may require diagrams to memorize
or if you're prone to zoning out.
We found that we can go three to four days without charging and easily recorded five
hours of lectures without making a dent into the space they provide you with.
It's rather simple to figure out. Just a single power button and tap on the controls on the
paper, and then you're in business.
So the whole time I was wondering, is this magic?
Well, you do have to use special paper. You can either buy their notebooks for about five
dollars each or you can print it out, but you need a 600 dpi printer.
The bottom of the page has controls on it so you can record, play, pause, anything you
want. Plus, you can draw, say a keyboard, and it will play music for you, and there's
a ton of other apps you can download, too.
Yeah. So in short you're buying into a system not just a pen.
So, overall, how many woofs would you give it, Courtney, and more importantly would you
buy it?
I would give it three out of four woofs and yes I would definitely buy it.
I hate taking notes and the Livescribe pen let's me just write down a chapter heading
say, and it does the rest of the work for me. Plus, it even taught me how to say hello in Chinese.
Which is "Ni Hao Ma" for you idiots out there.
Yeah, so if you're having trouble in your classes when you're taking notes, or if you're
just rich and lazy, go out and buy this pen.
That's it for Terrier Tech. See you next time.
