Interviewer: How're you going to start that off for season two?
Andrew Kreisberg: Season two picks up five months later, so we see the
aftermath of the undertaking and the destruction of the
Glades, and we see not just the city was destroyed, a lot
of our characters' hopes and dreams were destroyed too. So
we'll be seeing where everybody ended up and what state
they're in. Some people are exactly where you think they'd
be. Other people are in very different circumstances, and
we're excited to show that.
Interviewer: I was just asking Colton, since he's like the sole really
representative of the Glades in the cast, what does that
mean for his character and everybody else as they rally
around to try to bring the Glades back to life,
essentially?
Andrew Kreisberg: You know, Roy Harper is definitively trying to take
up the mantle of the Green Arrow, and Roy's going to find
it's not so easy to put on a hood and go out and fight
crime, and that's part of his evolution as a character this
season and it's going to bring him into contact with Oliver
and the Arrow in some surprising ways.
Interviewer: Will that happen quicker in the season or later in the
season?
Andrew Kreisberg: Everything we do is quicker. We really believe in
pedal to the metal, and we don't necessarily believe in the
slow burn. There's always more story to tell.
Interviewer: How long before we start seeing some island characters
hitting Starling City?
Andrew Kreisberg: That would be very interesting, wouldn't it?
Interviewer: Yes, it's really interesting. So how long until we start
seeing some of that in Starling City?
Andrew Kreisberg: I don't know. You know we'll just have to see.
Interviewer: Nothing?
Andrew Kreisberg: Nothing, zip. My lips are sealed.
Interviewer: Anything else you want to give us?
Andrew Kreisberg: Anything else I want to give you? I think the
island, there's actually going to be a lot more characters
on the island this season, which we're really excited
about. We have Celina Jade returning as Shadow, and
obviously Manu Bennett is a regular, and we're really going
to expand the storytelling on the island. I think there's,
not necessarily with the people themselves, but there's a
lot more of a connection to the island in season two,
what's going on in the present day. We feel like the island
really took off last season midway through the season, and
we've been much more cognizant about crafting a fuller
island story for season two that will make it just as
riveting as the main story.
